Basha Systems LLC as the developer of the HotDocs version of Wealth Transfer Planning is the sole authorized provider of HotDocs template customization services and Time Matters integration services. We have been with ILS from the beginning, when they made their transition to HotDocs. We know the system, because we built it and continue to work closely with ILS to maintain it.
We took this insight and created a support program to assist you customize your HotDocs templates and maintain those customizations. We built a full training curriculum for ILS and have made it available on this site. We also took that knowledge of WTP, along with our experience with Time Matters to develop a unique feature package to meet the special needs of Estate Planning Professionals. The system we built transforms your database overnight. And what's more, the client data you enter in Time Matters can be imported directly into you WTP Client Files.
WTP Template Maintenance Contract
Efforts have been made to make customization of the Wealth Transfer Planning forms as simple as possible. Nevertheless, there may be those of you who would find retaining a professional consultant to make your desired changes would be the most cost-effective option. You may wish to consider a Template Maintenance Contract with Basha Systems.
Services Provided Under the Contract
Among the services to be provided under a Basha Systems Custom Maintenance Contract are the following:
- Web-consultation with a expert HotDocs consultant who will review your change requirements and develop a customization plan
- Revision of the text of any of the templates that ship with Wealth Transfer Planning. Save yourself days of aggravation trying to figure out how to customize your templates to get your favorite language into the final documents.
- Revision of the HotDocs logic of any of the templates that ship with Weath Transfer Planning. We can use any of the over 5000 variables (including undocumented computations) that ship with the WTP system, We cannot make any custom changes to the standard shipping interview to add additional questions. However, as the HotDocs developer of WTP, there is a good chance any reasonable request will be included in a subsequent build of WTP.
- Changes to the shipping Word and WordPerfect style sheets, as well as standard inserts, may be included as part of a Custom Maintenance Plan.
- Revision of customized templates to keep current with the periodic WTP updates of the standard templates. These updates can and will mean that your "customized templates" will NOT contain the revisions made by WTP authors, some of which will be critical to the tax viability of your documents. Basha Systems will "maintain" a copy of all your customized templates, and ship you updated versions of those templates when ILS updates the underlying standard template.
Annual Contract Terms
Services will be offered as part of an Annual Contract. The contract will include a "maximum" number of consulting hours that can be used at any time over the term of the contract for consulting services relating to the Customization of the Wealth Transfer Planning Templates. The contract does not cover general HotDocs consulting services which need to be purchased separately. Any hours under an annual contract will "expire" at the end of the term. The contract can be "renewed" at the end of the term for subsequent annual terms. If a purchaser wishes to terminate the contract prior to the end of the term, the client will be liable to the lesser of (1) the complete contract amount or (2) the number of hours of consulting time provided by Basha Systems times our standard hourly rate of $200/hour. If use of professional services exceeds the cap in the contract, purchaser will be notified, and at purchaser's election may obtain additional consulting services at the rate of $200/hour.

Basha Systems has developed a full training curriculum for ILS to guide members through the customization process. We offer these classes through ILS. We also include copies of the training curriculum used for those classes here on this site.
